With the construction project in Poing, m&r Manufaktur was added to the Ceramic Architectures digital platform. The museum specializes in the collection of buildings in which ceramics are used as the main material. You can find exciting insights into the details right here.
Ceramic Architectures is run by the Chair of Ceramics in Valencia. It is part of the School of Architecture and is the result of an agreement between the Universitat Politècnica de València and the Spanish Association of Ceramic Tile Manufacturers (ASCER). What all these institutions have in common is that they promote new ways of innovating, developing and disseminating ceramic materials, with major areas of research including the link between ceramic materials and architecture, as well as the technologies used in ceramic manufacturing processes. The findings are shared on the ceramic architectures platform, among others. The platform is aimed at a very broad target group: technicians, students, architects, researchers – in short, everyone who helps to ensure that ceramics maintain the good reputation they deserve. The focus is on sharing interesting projects from the international field. Due to its high quality, this now also includes the m&r Manufaktur project in Poing.
The Catholic parish of Poing in Bavaria has gained a new place of worship. The ceramic roof landscape is a real eye-catcher. The square tiles, individually manufactured for the project, consist of four levels. Both the different sizes and the pyramid-like shape give the ceramic façade a spatial depth. A total of 2,200 square meters of roof and façade tiles were produced.
The design was created by meck architekten in Munich.
The substructure and workpiece planning was realized by DR Fassadenbau GmbH.
