Stadthalle Göttingen nominated for the German Façade Award (FVHF) 2024!
Unique façades based on custom-made ceramics – m&r Manufaktur produces three-dimensional ceramic elements for ventilated façades and wall cladding in collaboration with planners, clients and architects.
m&r Manufaktur was commissioned to produce new tiles and refurbish existing ones as part of the renovation of the Stadthalle Göttingen. The design by architects soll sasse architekten BDA from Dortmund took into account the existing character of the building and the original concept by architect Rainer Schell, who designed and opened the striking and unique Stadthalle in 1964.
As in 2022, the Fachverband für vorgehängte hinterlüftete Fassaden (FVHF) is once again awarding the German Façade Prize this year. From 96 project submissions, 13 projects were selected in a total of 4 categories. In the “Building in Existing Contexts” category, innovative solutions for the refurbishment and modernization of existing buildings with rear-ventilated rainscreen façades are awarded prizes. The focus here is particularly on the criteria of energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness and sustainability with multifunctional building physics properties and intelligent technical functions.
