Triad of living, shopping and meeting – Gemeindesaal Steinhausen

With the new center in Steinhausen, Switzerland, an architectural ensemble has been created that is convincing in terms of both urban planning and society. The design by MÜLLER SIGRIST Architekten, Zurich, follows the concept: “One square, two new buildings and three height accents”. The focus is on the triad of living, shopping and meeting – a forward-looking model for lively town centers.

Architectural concept with symbolic power

The number 3 not only characterizes the planning, but also the design: three height accents set clear urban planning markers, while different uses are harmoniously integrated into an overall concept. The Steinhausen center thus becomes a meeting place where life, work and culture naturally intertwine.

Ceramic façade with 3D geometry

The façade of the community hall is a particular highlight: clad with a ceramic façade made of geometric 3D tiles, produced in our manufactory. Each element was individually shaped and finished with a high-quality effect glaze. This creates a lively façade appearance that changes depending on the incidence of light and gives the building a striking identity.

With its combination of architectural clarity, multifunctional use and sophisticated ceramic design, the new Steinhausen center will become a place that creates identity – for residents, visitors and the entire community.
