3D Tiles for the new community centre Poing in production
Poing, Bavaria – The start of manufacture of the 14,500 hand-made 3D Tiles for the new community centre in Poing has taken place.
m&r Manufaktur has been contracted in cooperation with Degen + Rogowski Fassadentechnik to implement the roof structure and ceramic facade for the newly built church and parochial house in Poing.
The draft comes from the office of the meck architects and shall have place for 350 people. A distinctive sign of the building complex will be the shifting roof structure with white ceramic tiles from our foundry. It has an area of around 2,200 square metres and constructed on a rear ventilated sub-construction of steel. 14,500 tiles in two basic forms shall be hand-made for this plus many special and individual finishes.
The glaze shall also be added by hand, in order to create a living upper surface.
Fitment of the ceramic tiles is planned for from the middle of 2016 to October 2016. The interior construction shall take place thereafter.
According to current planning the Catholic church shall be consecrated in 2017. For all interested parties, we have updates on the project on the Internet page of m&r Manufaktur GmbH and are also at your disposal for any queries.
Background: m&r Manufaktur has a ceramic foundry with around 3,000 square metres of production area. Here, besides the classic cast object such as sanitary ceramics, above all facade tiles for ceramic facades are produced (VHF – pre-hung rear ventilated facades). This concerns hand cast three-dimensional forms.
